Your going to build your blog. This is sooo exciting! You will need a domain and host. I use Siteground as they automatically do WordPress updates reducing the potential of being hacked! The support Siteground gives you is high and they always go above and beyond when I manage to destroy the code on my site!
I chose WordPress over Blogger as you can have total ownership on your content without the risk of Google (who own Blogger) shutting you down for violating terms and conditions you didn’t read!
Next up find a blog design. There are plenty online and a quick google will send you down a rabbit hole of beautiful designs and images. This can be a little addictive! I use a theme from ThemeForest as they gave support for six months that I used a lot when I first put my site together.
WordPress plugins. These come in handy and took me a while to gather the info so I am keen to share to make others lives easier. I use Yoast SEO that helps me write and structure my pages for best google rankings. Akismet blocks span comments that will suddenly come in droves. Google Adsense helps rank your blog and get it into the search engine. Pin It Button for Pinterest so that readers can add you to their boards and then spread the word about your fab blog!
Canva.com is a great resource to make logo’s yourself and those beautiful instagram posts that you see other bloggers have! Alternatively use Fiverr.com and get someone to do this for you from $5. I used Fiverr until I became more confident with Canva for my blog logo’s.
