The birthday week has been packed! First off I went to a workshop with Kintsugi master, Mizuyo and learnt how to repair ceramics with a natural lacquer paste. The studios are located in Hackney at the top of an old industrial building and the views were amazing. I left on a high and headed to Slone Square to the Magnum Pleasure Store to make myself a custom ice cream. A quick tour of the Saatchi art gallery and then huge dinner at my favourite Wahaca.
July, my favourite month of the year. Mainly because it is my birthday month! Such a perfect time halfway through the year to restock on my favourite things and the best bit is living in the UK it is in the summer. This means outside parties, with cool drinks, bikinis and bbqs. Growing up in Australia and having a winter birthday always made me jealous of others who could go to the water park for theirs. Although at least I wasn’t one of those that had their birthday in a holiday time and never had a party. Sad for them!
End of June already and everyone is coming out of hibernation. This week I made a selection of small plates at my ceramics studio, caught up with friends and bar hopped through the night. On the weekend I spent hours in St James Park having a picnic with some delicious treats from M&S. The best bit we loved was the roast chicken because as bunch of Aussies used to buying a roasted chicken from the supermarket it was lovely to be able to purchase the same from M&S and chomp down on a leg!
This week has gone extremely fast and I can’t believe it is Friday already! Last weekend I visited the Chelsea Physic Gardens which are beautiful and I’ll put a little post together for you about that with some photos. The rest of the weekend I got stuck into life admin, rearranging bits and pieces in my flat and streamlining a bunch of art on my walls. My flat is a tiny one bedroom but I feel like there is plenty I don’t use and after living there a few years it is time to do a more ruthless clear out! I’m back in the pottery studio every week and I also met a friend for drinks on a canal boat Darcie and May Green.
This week round up has a selection of articles, new product launches, a neww podcast and book recommendation. We just had a bank holiday, long weekend in the UK and I ventured to Haggerston to make films with Xantha and a lovely group of ladies. The sun shone bright and I continued into the late afternoon traversing across London to Hyde park to meet Momo forgetting to pick up my dry cleaning! Oh well!
First week back from holidays has been incredibly busy! Monday was the most fun where I started back in a ceramics studio making plates and bowls. The time went so fast and I learnt so much from my teacher in those few hours. I’m back on the blogging thing and kept note this week of articles that interested me that you might find interesting too. Perfect for reading over this long weekend.
